LAST UPDATE | 29 Sep
THOUSANDS OF HOMES and businesses are without power this evening as weather warnings affecting 12 counties remain in place.
Strong winds have also brought down trees and blocked roads in parts of Munster as Met Éireann warns of difficult travelling conditions this evening.
All six counties in Munster (Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary) remain under a Status Yellow wind warning until 9pm.
Met Éireann has warned of “very strong and gusty southeasterly winds”, with possible wave overtopping and coastal flooding due to a combination of spring tides, surge and strong onshore winds.
The forecaster has also warned of fallen trees and branches, debris and difficult travelling conditions.

More than 20 thousand homes and businesses are currently without power as a result of the strong winds.
A separate Status Yellow wind warning is now in place for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo, after Donegal was added to the warning this afternoon.
It will also remain in place until 9pm.
Wicklow was meanwhile placed under a Status Yellow wind warning from 6pm until 9pm, with Met Éireann warning that winds could be particularly strong and gusty on high ground.
Thousands of electricity customers are without power this evening, with outages concentrated mainly in Munster and across the southern half of the country.
Several roads have also been affected by fallen trees and other debris across Munster.
Heavy rain is adding to the disruption, with Cork, Kerry and Waterford under a Status Yellow rain warning until 9pm.
Met Éireann said spells of heavy rain could lead to localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
Wexford and Wicklow will come under a separate Status Yellow rain warning from 9pm tonight until 4am on Wednesday.
In total, 12 counties are covered by at least one weather warning this evening.
